Höchstleistungsrechenzentrum Stuttgart (HLRS)

The High Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS) as the first of the three German national supercomputing centres has a long standing expertise with parallel and vectorizing algorithms and different programming models. Furthermore the HLRS is intensily contributing to the development of OpenMPI, is represented in the MPI-3-Standardization Committee and is very experienced in the field of debugging and performance analysis. The main focus with Lattice Boltzmann applications lies in turbulent flows.

The core contributions to the SKALB projects will be as follows:

• Development of data reduction algorithms
• Evaluation and connecting of parallel visualisation software to Lattice Boltzmann Simulations using a Computational Steering Framework
• Evaluation of parallel programming models (PGAS, hybrid parallelisation)
